Most software today assumes a fast, always-on internet connection. A hospital reception at 10 in the morning or a pharmacy counter during the evening rush does not get to assume that. When a bill cannot be printed because a cloud service is slow, a queue builds, and patients notice.
That is why Tatbiq HMS and PHARVILO are designed to run on your own equipment.
What "on your own network" means
For HMS, one server on the hospital network runs the software and every PC opens it in a browser. For PHARVILO, the application runs on the pharmacy's own PC, with extra counters connecting to a main PC in the same branch. In both cases the data sits on your premises, and billing does not wait on a distant server.
What you gain
- Speed and reliability. The counter keeps working when the internet does not.
- Control of your data. Patient and business records stay on hardware you own.
- No per-user cloud fee. You pay for a licence, not for every click.
- Simple licensing. HMS uses signed licence files that switch modules on and off, with no phone-home.
What you take on in return
We would rather be direct about the trade-off. Running software yourself means someone has to look after it.
- Backups matter. Both products run nightly backups, but a backup on the same disk is not enough. Keep a second copy on another drive.
- A PC is a single point of failure. Use a reliable machine and a UPS, and know who to call.
- Updates are deliberate. We help you install them, instead of pushing them without warning.
Where we do use the cloud
Some things belong online. SaffQ is a hosted service because patients scan a QR code from their own phones, and LocalDawai is an online storefront by nature. We choose cloud where the product needs to reach people outside your walls, and local where it needs to keep working inside them.
If you are deciding between the two for your own hospital or pharmacy, we are happy to talk it through.
